These are statues of the Roman Centurions who guarded the tomb in which Jesus was buried (sorry, no pictures yet). Their poses reflect the instant Jesus emerged from the tomb. One centurion is fallen on one elbow with his other arm raised to shield his face in alarm. The other centurion is kneeling down on one knee in rapture and amazement. They are both sized for the 72” Risen Jesus statue (shown below). |
